Dreams of a Life

Synopsis: Joyce Vincent,32, was found in her flat, dead, with her tv still on. her body was completely decomposed and all that was left of her was her skeleton. she had been dead for three years and nobody had come looking for her. as a documentary filmmaker Carol Morley starts to investigate the mysterious life of Joyce, she discovers she was once a lively, loved person.

Comment: amazing documentary that makes you think, would people miss me? do i really let people close to me? do i care for my friends like i should, or my neighbors or the sweet woman who always waits the buss with me? are we really truly always just alone.

Comment: really good movie adaptation of the book. Jennifer Lawrence has been my new favorite actress ever since Winter’s Bone and she is amazing in this one too.

Comment: whether the movie was good or not, doesn’t remember, either way you wont remember anything else than Ryan Gosling’s abs and aesomeness.

Comment: typical disney movie, but hey, Cameron Monaghan’s in it! thi he should have a bigger role. also Shameless has made me think every character he plays is gay. i’m pretty sure he was secretly in love with his best friend.

Comment: average but yet endearing. SJP is always pleasant to watch. movie with a good message.

Comment: decently entertaning but still pretty bad. but i’m so in love with Casey Affleck’s voice i could listen to him forever, no matter what kind of shitty movie he is in.

Another Earth (2011)

Synopsis: On the night of the discovery of a dublicate planet of The Earth, Rhoda, a young ambitious student, gets in a car accident that kills a young boy and his mother, leaving his father widowed and alone. four years after the accident, Rhonda tries to come terms with her action and seeks forgiveness from the widow. at the same time there has been new discoveries about the New Earth and there’s a competiton in which a winner will win a ticket to the duplicate planet.

Comment: the most beautiful Science Fiction film i have ever seen. it focuses on the drama and the relationships but the scifi-element is always there. it’s haunting and it has one of the most amazing endinc scenes in the history of cinema.

Starring: Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Roge, Anna Kendrick

Synopsis: a 27-year old Adam learns that he has cancer and there’s a 50% chance of him beating it.

Comment: one big surprise, Seth Roge was not annoying! or he was, but in a tolerable way. Joseph Gordon-Levitt was as amazing as awlays and despite the fact that Anna Kendrick got famous from Twilight movies, i’ve really grown to like her after Up In The Air and 50/50 made me love her even more. a nice movie, not the best i’ve seen, but quite good.

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011)

Starring: Thomas Horn, Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock

Synopsis: A nine-year-old amateur inventor, Francophile, and pacifist searches New York City for the lock that matches a mysterious key left behind by his father, who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Comment: i don’t know why most things i’ve heard about this movie have been things like ‘ugh yet and other cheesy 9/11 movie.’ it seems odd to me, i’m not even from US and i’m still sort of not over 9/11. and sure there are movies about it that maybe would have been better if they never got made (like that stupid remember me) but i liked this one. really liked this one. Stephen Daldry has made two of my favorite movies (The Hours & Billy Elliot, Reader wasn’t that bad either). i’m not sure if this will be a favorite, it’s a little long, but it’s beautiful and worth watching, even just for Thomas Horn’s amazing performance.

Synopsis: A story about the events leading up to the sword fighting cat’s meeting with Shrek and his friends.

Comment: not as good as any of the Shreks, even tho i’m not even the biggest fan of Shrek. i wish childrens movies would stop trying to be forcefully funny for adults, and tried to be honestly funny for kids. you don’t need all the obvious dirty jokes so that adults can enjoy the movie too. at least i still like good old fashioned adventures and touching stories, like the ones i went to see when i was a kid. i went to see this becuase i wanted to take my sisters kids to see a movie, i just wish it would have been better, for them too.

Comment: stupid. that’s all, just incredibly stupid.

Synopsis: Documentary about Father Oliver O’Grady, a Catholic priest who was relocated to various parishes around the United States during the 1970s in an attempt by the Catholic Church to cover up his rape of dozens of children.

Comment: a very powerful and shocking document. interesting thing is that Oliver O’Grady himself gives a very honest interview. Amy Berg has a talent to dig up what ever there’s to find, she’s fearless and i can’t wait for her new document West Of Memphis.

Comment: What a crappy movie, not even entertaining like at all. Horror movies are aloud to be bad, but they should still be fun to watch. only fun part was a Justin Bieber look-a-like, with similar cloting and identical hair!

Comment: Cowboys are cool, Aliens are cool, so in theory this should be a very cool movie. well it’s not! it’s the worst piece of shit i’ve seen for a long long time, this coming from a person who few months ago saw the newest Twilight movie….
